例如:

Susan Carver stood in front of herhouse. She watched George Carver take things out of his pockets. George hadbeen out in the woods again, collecting things like plants, insects, rocks, frogs and a snack. Susan was happy that George loved nature. She just didntwant George to bring all that nature into her house! Even when he was very young,George wanted to study the world outside.

Susan and MosesCarver wanted George to have a good education. But the schools near Georgeshouse were for white children only. So when George was about 12, the Carvessent him to a school for African Amrican children. But the school was too easyfor George. George decided to go to a different school so he can learn more.

George went to ahigh school in Kansas. He was one of the best students there, too. After Georgegraduated, he started a business cleaning peoples clothes. But George stillwanted to learn more. In 1885 a college in Kansas sent George a letter and saidhe could go to school there. But when George got to the college, they told himhe couldnt stay. The college was only for white students. He went to study at Simpson College, in Iowa.

He was sent to a school for African American children.

A college in Kansas sent him a letter but refused him later.

A.   B.

C.    D.

Emily and Anne did knowof course. They had known about Charlotte's book for a long time. Jane Eyre was not the first book that Charlotte had sent to a publisher. Over a year ago she had written another bookThe Professorand sent it to one publisher after another. Each publisher had sent it backin a packet addressed to Currer Bell. And then Charlotte had sent itin the same old packetto another publisherand then anotherand got it back again.

"Why didn't you change the paper on the packetmy dear"I asked.

Charlotte smiled. "I didn't think of itpapa. The worst day was when we were Manchestergoing to the eye doctor. Do you rememberThe packet came back then. That was the day before I started writing Jane Eyre. "

"Do you mean that you started writing Jane Eyre while I was lying in the dark room in Manchester"

"That's rightpapa. "

"But that's only six months agoand here is the book in my hand!"

"Yespapa. The book was printed a month later after I sent it to the publisher. "

"My dear! They decided very quickly that they liked itthen!"

"I think they didpapa. After allit is a good bookisn't it"

She smiled at me. I don't think I have ever seen her so happy. She is a very small person. Charlotteand not a beautiful womanbut when she smiles like thather face shines like a fine painting. My wife used to look like that sometimes when I first met her.

I took her hand in mine. "It is a very good bookmy dear. I cannot tell you how proud I am. "

She touched my hand. "Thank youpapa. But you must not be proud of me alone. You knowanother two of your daughtersAnne and Emily…"

"OhnoCharlotteplease!"Emily said.

But Charlotte did not stop. "Anne and Emily have written good books tooand their books will soon be published as well!Let me introduce them to youpapa. These young ladiesAnne and Emilyare"not"your daughtersthey are separately Acton Bell and Ellis Bellbrothers of the famous writer Currer Bell!"

Emily's face was bright redbut Anne and Charlotte started laughing. I was very surprised.

"All three of you!"I said. "Butbut why do you use these strange names"

"Because people are stupidpapa. "Anne said. "No one thinks women can write good booksso we have used men's names. And now they say that Currer Bell is a writer who understands women very well!"She laughed again.

Which is the right time order of what happened in the story?

a. The book Jane Eyre was published.

b. Charlotte wrote a book named The Professor.

c. Charlotte wrote a book named Jane Eyre.

d. The family went to the eye doctor in Manchester.

e. The books by Charlotte's sisters would be published.

A. bedca    B. eabdc

C. bdcae    D. ebcad

根据整篇文章内容及其第一段句子ers would be published. ory is a writer whOver a year ago she had written another book”,在一年前她写了另一本书;第三段句子when we were Manchestergoing to the eye doctor… That was the day before I started writing Jane Eyre. The book was printed a month later after I sent it to the publisher. ""My dear! They decided very quickly that they liked itthen!(这本书是一个月后,我把它寄给出版商。 Anne and Emily have written good books tooand their books will soon be published as well!Let me introduce them to youpapa. These young ladies—Anne and Emilyare"not"your daughtersthey are separately Acton Bell and Ellis Bellbrothers of the famous writer Currer Bell!(但是夏洛蒂并没有停下来。
